Well, Less is More, Lucrezia

There are two ideas behind this artwork,  I wanted it to be fairly simple with only a few essential elements and used the term 'less is more' as a starting point. The other aspect is the idea of up and down being the same thing - I used the reversed map to illustrate this as we are so used to seeing country maps in one way.

The title is from the Robert Browning poem Andrea Del Sarto in which the Renaissance painter speaks to his wife Lucrezia. Del Sarto was a contemporary of, and admired by, Michaelangelo whose hand of David features in the collage.
